It may come as a shock to some of you but brewing is a science.
The brewing process involves chemical reactions that are reliant on certain conditions being met if the process is to function effectively.
Most of the commercial brewery sites have a section on the brewing process but they nearly all present it from the large scale view. Doing it at home presents it’s own problems that must be understood and resolved if you are to get that perfect brew. Hopefully, this section tries to make the problems easier to grasp and allow you to take the corrective action when a brew really should be going down the drain!
